Topic: Paper Capture recognition server ?

Today I tried to use the OCR function in Acrobat 6.0 Professional for the first time. I read up on the steps to take and followed them to the letter.

I was met with an error message stating:

"Acrobat could not access the Paper Capture recognition server because of the following error:

Unable to launch the Paper Capture recognition server".

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to indicate that an internet connection is required to use this that correct ? The PC that has Acrobat is not connected to the internet (it's a stand alone in my workplace which is dedicated for scanning, running Win XP). Is there really an assumption that every person who wants to use this function will be connected to the internet ?

Any ideas or advice sincerely appreciated.

Many thanks,

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
