I want to scan 3700 medical records into PDF format by creating a unique PDF for each patient
the naming convention is : last_first_mmyy.pdf
I have created an empty 'binder' template with different section title pages bookmarked with the title pages name such as lab, radiology, consultation etc. After scanning my staff will simply drag reports under the appropriate bookmarked section.
On the first page I would like to create buttons linking to an rtf file and an xls file with the same name but different extensions. I want to push a button to pop-up Word to do voice recognition dictation into the rtf file. I want to push a button to enter immunizations and other flow sheet data into excel. This provides a single interface with adode into my scans, dictated notes and flowsheets

I have figured out how to create the PDF files by:
exporting an xls from my billing system whith the list of the names and birthdays
writing a VBA module in Excel to create a last_first_mmyy.txt file for each patient, i placed the name and birthdate in the first line of the text file
I used pdfcreate to make a pdf file from each text file
I used acrobat professional batch to insert the blank pdf binder into each pdf

Can anybody tell me if there is away to create the button links from the PDF to the last_first_mmyy.rtf and last_first_mmyy.xls files. There will be 3700 files and I would like to automate insertion of the links to the buttons without doing it explicitly.
Thanks!!!! John Holmes

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
