Topic: Populate PDF from database

I am very new to the whole Adode world and am trying to populate a Designer form from a database.

I have a button on the form (labeled retrieve) with the following script:

xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.#command.query.commandType = "text"
xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.#command.query.select.nodes.item(0).value = Concat("Select * from jobdesc Where id = 'aa97'")
xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.open()

As you can see I have the ID hardcoded and it works fine, the data is retrieved and the form is fill in.

The form has an ID field and what I want to do is fill in the ID field click the "Retrieve" button and have the data retrieved from the database based on the entered ID.

I have tried all kinds of things like:

xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.#command.query.commandType = "text"
xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.#command.query.select.nodes.item(0).value = Concat("Select * from jobdesc Where netid = ", NETID.rawValue, " ")
xfa.sourceSet.SPDDataConnection.open()

and all I keep getting is syntax errors.

Can anyone help with this problem.

Thanks!
Kevin
