Topic: creating PDF and reader cant view it

When I scan a document and convert to a PDF using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional, I find that my reader 7.0.9 cant view it. However when I start up acrobat 6.0 and open the document from there, there isn't a problem. When I create the adobe pdf document from scanning and the email, the recipient cant view it from their reader. Can someone tell me what the fix is to this. am i missing a plugin or something. Is something going wrong with the conversion?
