hi,
recently i've been working in state archives.
they let you take digital photos of the archival documents but they won't let you scan them. so with a tripod that swivels to face town, i've been taking photos of these documents; then i create pdf files out of the photos and use Adobe 7 Pro to underline, take notes, etc, on the pdf file.
MY QUESTION IS whether it is possible to convert these photo-based pdf files to text-- i.e., to perform an OCR process similar to what I do with scanned documents. I've tried to use the OCR process on Adobe 7 Pro but it tells me that the page document is lower than 144 dpi.
I'll add that as I have them set up these photo-based pdf flies look roughly like scanned documents; all are typed (not handwritten) documents (reports, letters, etc.).
Any suggestions? Thanks,
Matt
