I have recently begun using acrobat to create a database of sorts containing articles.
I have added meta-data to these articles in "document properties" and placed them into seperate sections.
I am trying to make each section into a searchable index along with one main index for searching everything.
My problem comes when creating an index.
For example: 89 files to be indexed, 1013 Pages.
The process of creating the index speeds along nicely, then seems to stop at 92%. If i leave acrobat for an extended period of time then it completes and says that the index build was successful.
But when i try ot search an authors name, which i know is in the index i get 0 results. Then when i search for a common term within the index acrobat crashes.
When looking into why this was happeneing i looked at the index files on my computer.
There is a notepad file, detailing the build and its success. A PDX file of the index itself. Then a sub folder.
In the sub folder are two files. INdex and Index1. They are quickfinder information files. one is 4.73kb and the other is somehow 3gb in size. I assume my problem relates to this strangely large file.
Can anyone give me any insight into why this is happening or how i can avoid it?
