Topic: Default value turns to garbage

Since upgrading to 7 I have had the following intermittent problem.

I setup text fields with default values (sometimes readonly, sometimes not) so that after a reset command is sent that value will display. Every once in a while the default value will get overwritten with garbage like '' which means hitting reset won't fix it.

for example - i set my 'desig' field to have default value of "Customer Copy" (using the properties window) and somewhere down the line, after being viewed on a few other computers, it turns to garbage text, which I can also see in the properties window.

I am not using any bizarre fonts and the ones I use are embedded.

I'm beginning to wonder if someone reviewing the doc has an acrobat issue that is corrupting the files.

Any ideas anyone?
