Hello,

I am trying to learn to use JavaScript with Acrobat 8.1 (LiveCycle Designer).    I am trying to make a form that has a check box with a JavaScript attached.  It’s a little difficult, as I am using reference material that has all of its samples in Acrobat 6.

Objective:

When the user clicks on the check box, the JavaScript will make the other fields on the form visible.

Form Design:

1 checkbox named chkYes

1 listbox named cboGenre

1 listbox named cboTitle

1 button named btnsubmit

I have the Presence for the listboxes and the button set to “Hidden, Exclude from Layout”.

Script:   JavaScript as follows:

----- form1.#subform[0].chkYes::mouseUp: - (JavaScript, client) ------------------------------------

var genreFld = this.getField("cboGenre")

var titleFld = this.getField("cboTitle")

var submitBtn = this.getField("btnSubmit")

if (event.target.value == "On")

{

    genreFld.hidden = false

    titleFld.hidden = false

    submitBtn.hidden = false

}

else    {

    genreFld.hidden = true

    titleFld.hidden = true

    submitBtn.hidden = true

}

Any help, or reference to tutorials that will point me in the right direction is highly appreciated.  Thank you.
