I'm a complete newbie here. I did search a couple of conferences that looked like likely places to find a discussion of my problem, and I didn't find a reference. I've also done a general Google search and not found anything specific to my problem.
Context: I run full version of Acrobat 7.0 on Windows XP. I'm converting Word docs with tables to PDF. Docs are single letter-size pages in landscape format; tables run single page left-to-right but multiple pages top-to-bottom.
Problem: Seems to be display-only and only in the PDF formatted document. Some, but not all, horizontal grid lines do not display in the PDF. However, the lines really are there. They print just fine. Also, in the places where the horizontal lines do not display, there is a little loop shape in the vertical table lines at the intersections with the non-displaying horizontal lines, as you might see in a flow chart when one connector crosses over another one. Also, I can get the horizontal lines to display in the PDF by changing the zoom percentage. In addition to all that, if I convert the same Word doc to PDF again with a different file name, it does the same thing - except that DIFFERENT horizontal table lines fail to display than in the previously-converted file.
I've tried it on multiple computers within my office and the same thing happens if I do the Word to PDF conversion on a different computer or if I just view the offending PDF on a different computer.
Any thoughts on the cause and especially on a solution? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
