I have an image that I cropped using an InDesign picture frame. When I export to PDF, the cropped portion of the image shows up. I fixed this by moving the image to another layer and covering the cropped portion with a white box. This worked, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong for this to occur in the first place.

Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
