I have to say right off that i get very frustrated/angry when i have to deal with PDF files mainly because it really puts the kabosh on free and open knowledge tranferal, what a slap in the face to open source!
But anyway, i always use MS-Word documents cos i'm able to create hyperlinks between documents and scan documents and create cross reference indexes from a whole directory of WORD documents and the product is a real nice way to be able to come back to a knowledge base at any time, get into the main WORD index document, do a search or just select a document from a variety of indexes and bounce from 1 document to the next and navigate to child docs and type in notes or add on the fly hyperlinks to on the fly indexes ect ect and an unlimited way to knit together you own custom knowledge base the way you like it/need it and even hyper link from docs to wikipedia and convert wikipedia html to word docs and navigate within them....it unlimited and unbeliveablly a stimulating way to build knowledge.
But now i have a directory full of PDF documents and i'm at a complete dead stop with how to cross reference these very unfriendly and unworkable items and it's like hitting a brick wall and going back to the old days of hoarding and protecting your knowledge when it should be shared and furthered and linked together!
So can anyone suggest a way that i can create a usable cross reference through about 100+ PDFs located in 1 Windows directory please?
I've spent almost 2 months on and off downloading conversion tools and trying to write PDF apis and i even have Adobe Professional to work with but it still doesn't convert PDFs to WORD very well and it's really a cumbersome tool compared to WORD.
