Topic: How do I convert a Word document with hyperlinks

I want to convert a “Word” document into a ‘pdf’ file, with hyperlinks to bookmarks within the text. I produced a document in Word and converted it but the links disappeared so it seems that they have to be put in after conversion.
I can’t afford Adobe Acrobat as I’ve seen prices on the Internet and the cheapest was almost $400 – there would be no sense in me buying the software as I’ve only got a few documents that I want to convert with these hyperlinks and they’re only for my hobby – not business.
I hope I’ve explained the situation okay and I’d be grateful if anyone could come up with a cheap idea, please!
I’ve got various small, cheap ‘pdf’ conversion programs but they won’t do it. I’m using Windows XP and Office 2007, by the way.
There’s a similar question already been asked on this forum but it doesn’t answer my question. I found and clicked on the “Add-Ins” button and then on the “Create PDF and HTML Renditions” and got the following pop-up.
“License information for this component not found. You don't have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment (Error 429)
You are not a licensed user of the ActiveX control. This error has the following cause and solution:”
I have no idea what this means so would appreciate a bit of enlightenment, if possible, please.
Sorry about my ignorance but I shall learn after this, I’m sure!
