I had a perfectly good file in word format on my pen drive. Somehow, and I have NO idea how, this file is now unreadable in word, but it is full of symbols and garbage and from looking at some PDFs in a text editor for comparison, it looks like my word file has converted to PDF, but there's something missing so it can't be read in the PDF viewer.

It starts like this:

1 0 obj
/Type /XObject
/Subtype /Image
/Name /Im1
/Filter [ /ASCII85Decode /CCITTFaxDecode ]
/Width 2480 /Height 3504 /BitsPerComponent 1
/ColorSpace /DeviceGray
/Length 2 0 R
/DecodeParms [ null << /K 0 /Columns 2480 /Rows 3504 /EndOfBlock false /BlackIs1 false >> ]

but ends like this:

so it looks like something has been cut off the end.... but as I didn't actually try to convert it to PDF, and I don't know anything about PDF source code, I have no idea how to get my original file back, whether its in word or PDF format! I'm happy to send the file to anyone who thinks they might be able to help, its not big, about 22k.

Thanks for any help with this!

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
