I am an intern at a state run crime lab, and as such their internet has a filter that will deny access to any “inappropriate content”. Unfortunately, this means that any drugs that the director may want to obtain research articles on is blocked because of content. I was given the task of finding a software program that is a searchable database by keyword (either by a text search or by tagging the PDF) that can be used locally on computers, rather than accessing the internet (to not get the filter), so that way research articles can be stored and accessed as needed. The database should be similar to something like google desktop, where it is easily searchable and can link you to a PDF of the article stored locally. I know this is a long shot, but is there anything that someone there could suggest as a good program that is cheap, or even free?

The director does not like google desktop or access.

Also, as a chemist I know nothing about programming and little about software.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
