Topic: Automating a merge of PDF files

I am looking to find out if Acrobat has a way to automate the merging of files that I get from a client. Here is the basic run down:

I have a folder of PDF’s (usually in the 100’s) that have a standardized naming convention:

I then have to merge the matching files together:
WK15_FLYER_FullPg_D1_D2_D3.pdf with WK15_FLYER_HalfPg_D1_D2_D3.pdf

WK15_FLYER_FullPg_C1_C2_C3.pdf with WK15_FLYER_HalfPg_C1_C2_C3.pdf

To get: Version_D1_D2_D3.pdf

Is there a way for Acrobat to “read’ the file name and merge the like files together automatically? In other words can Acrobat read the file names, understand that the files ending with “_D1_D2_D3” should be merged together? Can it merge more than two PDF's?

Right now I have to do each merge manually which eats up A LOT of my time. If anyone can tell me if this is possible or not and point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
