Your postings are extremely difficult to answer because you leave out
significant portions of the situation. For example, in this one, you don't
say whether the error is generated by Jaws PDF Creator or by Acrobat and at
what point it happened. Also was Jaws PDF Creator in the loop in the EPS
case? In your first post, you never asked a question, you really only
offered to provide information. I almost asked you where I can find
certain out-of-print books.
Also, why don't you make your spot colors defined in CMYK in Freehand. It
lets you choose a Pantone color, for example.

Your original email suggested that you might be trying to print.
Crackerjack helps you control output from PDF. If the colors are in RGB
and you use in-RIP separations, then the RGB to CMYK conversion happens
automatically with the current UCR/GCR settings. If the spot color is
defined correctly in the PDF, it will show up in the Crackerjack inks list
and you can get a separation for it. And because it generates different
PostScript, it might be more palatable for your PCC rip. In that case, you
would not have to go through these other gyrations.
