I am converting documents from another application (Lotus Notes) to pdf using acrobat distiller 4.0.
The documents use the Tms Rmn Font which is standard in Lotus Notes.
When distiller is installed by default in the Screen Optimized job option it has:
Embed All fonts checked,
Subset All Embedded Fonts checked,
Embedding = Base 14 Fonts,
Never Embed/Always Embed lists are empty,
With these settings, when the document is converted, the document information for fonts of the resulting pdf indicates that the original font was Courier when the reality is that it was Tms Rmn. It converts the font to some MTS....font.
I changed the settings to:
Embed All fonts checked,
Subset All Embedded Fonts unchecked,
Embedding = Base 14 Fonts,
Never Embed/Always Embed list contains ALL base 14 fonts
The result is a good quality conversion with the document info indicatin the original font was Tms Rmn.
After that not matter what I change the settings to in the job options it performs the conversions correctly.
Here's the problem, Another user with the same applicaton cannot get the documents to convert no matter which settings are chosen. Even if we use the same document on the network it always sees the original font as courier and the converted document looks like ti came out of an old typewriter.
Does anyone have any idea where else I could look to solve this problem? I have tried every combination of settings in Distiller and cannot get it to work on this users machine. Thanks in advance.
