Topic: Confusing Font Substitution Issue

Thanks Aandi, I wish I could use another font but I am hamstrung into using Tms Rmn in the native application. Believe me, I would love to dump that font. What I am trying to undertand is why does it work for me no matter what I set distiller to? Is it in one of the Windows ini files?

Other info:

I am finding that for some users it is successfully substituting TimesNewRoma for Tms Rmn. For toher users it thinks the font is something like MSTT31c3S00 and substitutes another font with a similar name but the result is still good quality.

Bottom line:

I am just trying to understand what is happening. Why does font substitution work in one case but not the other? Thanks for your help.
