Our office has been given the task of turning Journals into pdfs. We have to scan several and the series starts with ones dated back to the 1800's. As a test, we have already scanned recent Journals using Adobe Capture. The process included scanning and depositing the document to an input folder as tiff files. Then the tiffs get deposited to an output folder as a single pdf after Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has been performed on all the tiffs or pages. We utilize the OCR feature because our users want to be able to perform word searches in the pdfs. It works well except when the pdf contains strike through text. We would like to be able to search through strike through text. Will a setting adjustment to Adobe Capture do the trick, or will we need a plug-in, or is their another product available to get the job done?
