Hi Bill,

There are several solutions for this workflow planning.

> I would like to install distiller server onto NT 4 server with extreme-z to give me services for macintosh as well as service our pc's.
> Ideally I would like to publish various distiller "in" folders as Print Queue(s) with different job options.

Ok.

> To make life easier for users is it possible to do this so that users dont have to "save to file" instead they can just print to a printer in their printer list (pc) or select a printer from their chooser (mac) and the distiller or NT Server will do conversion to postscript file.

Mmmmm ... save as a PostScript file is an **unavoidable** step.

This is a possible workflow planning:

A. One 'Hot Folder' for every 'Job Option' preset. Example:

Hot_Folder_A --> Distiller Job Options A
Hot_Folder_B --> Distiller Job Options B
Hot_Folder_C --> Distiller Job Options C

B. A external program watches this 'Hot Folders' collection and parses
the .PS files (proceeding from Mac's and PC's) with the 'Job Option/Hot
Folder' assigned to Acrobat Distiller Server. Example (with 3 Hot
Folders):

Mac & PC W o r k s t a t i o n s

This are the possible solutions:

1. Program yourself this utility (See the Acrobat Distiller API
Reference Manual)
2. We are open to work with you to build this application.

Hope this helps,
