(I'm working on a PC, but I can't imagine the methods would be much different...)
When you print using PDFWriter, can't you access the settings or properties? I get a setting for Graphic>Scaling which should usually be set at 100%. Also there is a setting for Page Size. I usually use the custom settings, where I can set the margins to 0.
Have you been down this road already?
