Acrobat 4.0 has problems working with the higher end scanners with Kofax cards - so I would make 100% sure the scanner you buy will work with Acrobat 4.0. Acrobat 4.0 wants a TWAIN driver. Fujitsu, Bell & Howell, Ricoh, Kodak all have 11 x 17 scanners - if you have a computer store locally that you can see some of these scanners and have them confirm they will work with Acrobat 4.0 - that would probably be the best.
