If the web server is not suitable (i.e. it won't byteserve), then you can
use Ari's PDF Splitter to break up your large PDF before posting to the
web. This plug-in for Adobe Acrobat will break up the PDF file in many
ways, but most suitable to the original question is "Split this file into
single pages". Most importantly, the plug-in will keep all of the links
and bookmarks working, jumping between the pages in different files so that
the user can download the first single-page file, and the next single-page
file will not download until the user clicks on a link that goes to that
page. No byteserving needed.
