You can view the DocInfo contents using the free (non-editing) version of the ViewInfo plugin from Merlin Open Systems, which is freely distributable and available from my website at: http://www.pdfwebsearch.com/download/ew32info.zip. You can also find it elsewhere on this site.
This is an Acrobat Reader plugin that puts an "i" button on the toolbar even when it is used as a browser plugin.
With the paid version of ViewInfo, you can add custom DocInfo fields, that can be used with search engines that recognize them, such as PDF WebSearch.
