The OCR engine in Capture 3 can automatically create a PDF with searchable text. By searchable I mean a) a Find can be done within the PDF, and b) Acrobat Catalog can be used to create one or more indexes of a number of PDF files.
c) 3rd party search engines - e.g. Verity, and MS IIS with the appropriate iFilter - can also index and thereby search the full pdf text.
Each PDF can also contain essentially keyword area, that can also be searched.
