HP 9100C digital sender scans and produces either TIFF or PDF output. Excellent scanner but it's not cheap and does not produce searchable PDFs. If you already own a scanner you might try researching some 3rd party software like Doculex, Prime Recognition, PageGenie, Ascent Capture, etc.
