On a PC, ESPECIALLY with applications such as Word and Excel, the print driver used to produce a PS file has EVERYTHING to do with how that file will layout when printed. DO try a print preview on the "guilty" machines with the PS driver you are using selected. You will more than likely be surprised to see exactly what you are seeing the in PDF. I wouldn't be.

The safest way to get consistent print results on a PC when using Excel or Word is to -- from start to finish -- always have the same printer chosen as default printer that you intend to ultimately print to -- each and every time you even open or touch the document in any way. And for Acrobat purposes, that default printer should optimally be Acrobat Distiller. On everyone's machine. Otherwise, you are just asking for inconsistency.

These inconsistency problems you mention have been well-known to electronic pre-press personnel practically since the first time anyone tried to use Microsoft Word to output text. The only way around it is to maintain RIDICULOUS consistency in print drivers -- right down to the version numbers from computer to computer -- and to always have the same driver loaded, even when just editing or looking at the document. I know it sounds harsh, but I'm just so traumatized from bad experiences caused by NOT taking these precautions that I can't stress this enough.

Hope this helps.
