John - Thanks for responding but I've already tried several settings (down to 72dpi) and nothing seems to work. Gonnfen suggested using PDFWriter instead and I had good luck with that route. Still, it wasn't the complete solution either. Any suggestions on how to improve the resolution to the point that the "Hard up diagonal" and "Hard Vertical" hash marks/shading comes through? What are the impacts of the following selections in the PDF Writer Properties:
-The General Box
--Compress text and line art (Y or N)
--ASCII Format (Y or N)
--Downsample Images (Y or N)
--Compatibility
-Color Grayscale Images (Y or N) and if Checked "Y" the impacts of JPEG-High/Med-High/Med/Med-Low/Low/Zip
-Monochrome Images (Y or N) and if Checked "Y" the impacts of CCITT Groups 3 and 4, Zip and "Run Length"
Combinations of the above.
I'd use the online help, but its not context sensitive and in some case doesn't seem to address some of the above topics i.e I found a discussion of compression and its impacts under 'converting files to PDF'
Can you (or anyone else for that matter) share your experience with this?
Thanks for the assist.
