Oh, I'm extremely aware that this is old technology! It's very hard to find support for it anywhere, and Adobe doesn't seem to support it any more - they want to push everyone toward their newer versions. Understandable, but I still have to deal with clients with older hardware. For them, the "old, dark past" is the bright present and likely the foreseeable future.

I tried making DOS memory and Windows as vanilla as possible, and it still didn't work. Just froze on "initializing afill16.exe" I notice Adobe has Reader 3.02 (with the Forms Update included) for just about every operating system EXCEPT Win 3.1. Wonder if that's significant?

My other question is whether the version of the Update that I have is really intended for use with Win 3.1. The text file that comes with it only mentions Win 95 and NT, but on the other hand the installer is a 16-bit program, and it does create files with '16' in the name on my Win 3.1 system and with '32' in the name on my Win 98 system. I wish there were better documentation. Anybody know of any likely sources of further wisdom on this topic?
