I have not tested it recently, but in a previous version of Acrobat, you
could select the files in the Windows Explorer and drag them onto a PDF
window in Acrobat, and they would be added in the order (or maybe reverse
order) that they were selected.

I did a quick test, and it still seems to work in Acrobat 5.
