i've written a VB application to re-order and apply OMR markings to PDF pages withing a single PDF doc. the PDF file is around 20,000 pages (25megs). i also need the program to pull all text from the PDF and dump it to a TXT file. i WAS using the HiliteObject and looping for each page, but 20,000 pages takes like 12 hours using this method. in Acrobat, i can do a Search for Text and search the entire PDF in 1 minute, so im pretty sure Acrobat enumerates all the text and then searches.
i cant seem to get the WordFinder to work in Visual Basic. what is the FASTEST way to get the text from a PDF?
