I have been trying to figure out how best to do the following:--

(a) take a standard ("base") PDF;

(b) add a watermark with Copyright info, personalised to the intended recipient (something like what Mightwords used to do for each purchased PDF);

(c) locking the PDF to prevent amendments;

(d) emailing the PDF through an SMTP server to the intended recipient.

The recipient's name and email address can be stored as a Comma-Separated Text File or as a standard ODBC compliant database.

Needless to say, there should be good logging of all activity, and all this should be as cheap as possible.

Is there off-the-shelf software that slays this dragon, or if it needs to be scripted / customised, what development environment would work best?

Would appreciate any and all assistance.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
