Thank you in advance for any and all help!! I'm to the point of pulling hair out here. Have searched and searched for answers to no avail.
I'm creating a Visual Basic application in a Windows environment designed to aid folks in my organization plan travel itineraries. The application loops through their itinerary and picks out the name of each destination. What I need it do next is to open Acrobat Reader and go directly to an informational listing in a .pdf for that destination. The .pdf can be accessed either online or on a central networked dive. Also, this .pdf has bookmarks. Basically, I'm trying to create an auto-lookup feature. It seems that Reader does not support OLE automation for IAC so that leaves me with DDE which I know nothing about. On top of that, in Reader, DDE only supports a limited number of commands the most promising of which is DocGotoNameDest. I don't know what named destinations are nor how to tell if my .pdf file has them. Please help. How can I do this?! I truly appreciate any advice you all can offer esp. sample code.
By the way, using the full version of Acrobat isn't an option here as my large (very large) organization only has Reader installed on it's computers and convincing them to shell out the money to buy licenses for Acrobat at each machine would likely take an Act of Congress...so this has to work with Reader. Thanks again!
