What quality are you losing? If the eps from Pagemaker (like
that from Quark) has been produced, shall we say 'incorrectly'
(since text is actually disappearing as opposed to font
replacement), the data contained within the eps is faulty.
Running it through Illustrator is a nightmare with text running
everywhere except where you want it. Running it through
photoshop loses maybe 5% but not much more. Depends of
course on the original material placed within pagemaker.
Another alternative is to export a postsript from Pagemaker,
distill it, and import the pdf directly into Quark. Or is that
another arguement for quality?
