Topic: PDF Form opens Reader in separate window

Dear Forum Members,

I am developing an Internet forms process. My Acrobat forms submit data to the server with no trouble. I am having a slight problem opening a filled form, as explained below.

When sending an xfdf file from a CGI script to the client IE browser, it always opens a separate window with Reader in it, and then a browser window with the filled-in PDF form in it. Closing the form does not close the Reader window. The header returned by the CGI script is "Content-type: application/vnd.adobe.xfdf". The form opens fine with the correct data but just leaves an occurrence of Reader running that must be closed seperately.

Thanks to anyone who can help me suppress the extra window opened by Reader.

Yours truly,

Franklin Garner

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
