Pete,
You do not need to retype your forms. As mentioned above. If you aplly the righ scanner settings you can filter this problem and ger good OCR. There is Kofax
VirtualReScan VRS2.0 thta does a good job cleaning your scans and prepare them for OCR.
You need a product that does have background supression and noise elimination. With that keep scanning in black/white. I'm just doing that for
45,000 pages.
