Thanks for posting this question, I need something very similiar.
I need to also control the printing of the PDF and once it's been printed a
overlay needs to be put on the PDF so subsequent copies get's printed with
the overlay text.
Another problem is that people can copy the document before printing it
so muliple prints is still possible.
My knowledge of javascript used inside pdf is very limited but would it
be possible to make a call to a webservice from within the pdf.
ie. checking a central service to see whether the specific pdf has been
printed and
if so return maybe a time it was printed / id.
is it possible to instantiate xmlhttp object or something similiar from
script inside pdf?

Dear All,

Anybody knows that is there any solution I could secure a pdf file which can
be print only once time.
Due to this limitation, I had try to find how to hide the toolbars of
Acrobat Reader and browser part, then i could using javascript to create a
print action inside a pdf file.

But hiding toolbars seems to be uncontrol and many comments is advise that
it is imposible.

I would like to know that any others technique or third party which could
help me programatically contorl the printing. I had try one solution of
FileOpen, too bad it need to be manually run the pdf file after created.

thks in advanced.

Evelyn
