Hi! Hope that this finds you well.
My name is Jordan Dea-Mattson and I am the manager of the Acrobat Developer Technology Engineering team at Adobe systems.
We are the folks at Adobe that build the Acrobat SDK, the PDFL (PDF Library) SDK, the upcoming PDFL Essentials SDK, answer the hard developer questions, and do pre-development consultations with key customers.
We currently have three positions for Developer Technology Engineers (DTE) working at our corporate headquarters in San Jose.
The following positions are currently open:
1. Acrobat Plug-In and IAC DTE
In this position you will contribute to the Acrobat SDK by creating code samples, technical documents, and utilities. You will also be responsible for handling technical questions escalated to you by our Developer Support team.
2. PDFMerchant-WebBuy DTE
In this position you will be responsible for working with Adobe's PDFMerchant-WebBuy product team to create the PDFMerchant SDK as well as being responsible for handling technical issues for customer integrating PDF Merchant into systems.
In addition to the standard technical and job skills required for these positions, this position requires experience in developing Web applications including exposure to HTML, CGI development, Perl, and web server and application deployment.
Experience with Java, JavaScript, Active Server Pages, commercial application servers (HAHTserver, Netscape Application Server, WebObjects), is a plus.
3. PDFL DTE
In this position you will contribute to the creation of Adobe's PDFL and PDFL Essentials SDKs and handle technical issues related to PDFL and PDFL Essentials escalated to you by our Developer Support Team.
The common technical and job skills as well job experience for these positions are as follows:
Education
Requires BS in CS or equivalent work experience. An MS is a plus. Strong practical experience is more important than a strong academic background. The ideal candidate has a combination of strong academic foundations and in-depth practical experience.
Qualifications
Two or more years experience in application development for Mac, Windows, or UNIX. Each additional platform a plus.
Programming and application development experience in C (C++, object oriented features not just "better C" features, a plus).
Experience with of Adobe?s PDF and Acrobat are definite pluses, but not required.
Strong and clear written and spoken communication skills. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to learn new technologies easily. Experience working successfully in customer service a plus.
