We are very interesting in finding out if we could have someone create a PDF merging product that would automatically and periodically merge about 700 pdf files down to 350 pdfs. the data structure we have is ~350 "pairs" of pdf files the pairs all looking like below:
file1 ToMerge: file2 To Merge: Merged Filename:
aa1.pdf aa2.pdf aa.pdf
ab1.pdf ab2.pdf ab.pdf
......etc. down to:
zz1.pdf zz2.pdf zz.pdf
the ideal solution for us would be a merger program that would periodically go into a directory periodically (every 12 to 24 hours or so) and search for every aa1-aa2 type combination and merge them into a aa.pdf combined pdf file. We won't necessarily know in advance what 2 letter combos will be in the directory at any one time (i.e. aa, ab, sy may be in directory or ac, ad, zt, etc.) so ideally the solution could search for all files in the directory looking like ??1.pdf and merge them with their corresponding ??2.pdf file to produce a ??.pdf file
We run Win95 and use Acrobat 4.05
