Jeff,
the first address to contact is definitely FileOpen
(http://www.fileopen.com). They have a pretty good standard product, and
they do custom developments. However, it is _very_ unlikely that you will
get any part of the source code, but you can try.
As far as I can see, most of the features are somehow handled by FileOpen.
The one with most problems would be checking the printer status, as this
depends a lot on the printer driver and the actual printer; you'd have to
be very specific about the printer you are using.
Technically impossible is peventing saving to a harddisk, as the document
_is_ already on the harddisk when it gets transferred. A possible
workaround would be to have it self-destructing ... or at least make it
unusable after printing.
If you require the user to have a standing connection to the internet for
the printing, you can also look at some server controlled security systems.
An address to look would be Digital Applications (http://www.digapp.com).
It would be advisable IMHO to go with some manufacturers who already have a
product; you can profit of their experience, and the results would be here
way earlier ... compared to re-inventing the wheel.
Hope, this can help.
PS (and that's for the listmaster too: it is not a good idea to have HTML
codes in the messages; see in the quote how they come through on an e-mail
system).
