Bob,

Transfer functions may be ridiculous (what do I know - I'm just a designer - you're the prepress guy, afterall) but they were also the only way that this problems seemed to get solved.

I certainly agree that I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get this problem solved but that has been the theme to Acrobat version 4.0. Between poor 4.0 documentation, late-in-the-coming technical documents regarding prepress & print (had to wait at least 4 months after 4.0's release), loss of most of the TrueType support that existed in 3.0 (a wonderful suprise), poorly written technical documentation on what all those job options settings are supposed to do (obviously NOT written for the common end-user) this version has certainly been quite a pain in my ass.

I hope someone from Adobe monitors these convesations - their user support documentation NEEDS to be improved!
