Simon,
Some suggestions:
1. Get your viewers to upgrade to version 4 of Acrobat Reader.
2. Try not compressing the output through Distiller to see if that makes a
difference
3. Use a different Postscript printer driver to generate the PS. (although
generally speaking you should always use the Acrobat Distiller instance).
4. Temporarily change the fonts?
5. Set the Acrobat Distiller color setting 'Leave Color Unchanged' to ON.
6. Don't embed the fonts?
Also check MicroTypes web site out there could be some technical info there.
