Start Distiller 4.0 from the Program Files, Adobe Acrobat, Distiller 4.0 and change the Job Options drop down combo box from "Screen Optimised" to "Print Optimised". Make sure that you change this back if you most regularly produce PDFs that must be Web-ready.
