I need to reduce the file size of PDFs I produce to
about 180K without losing image quality of a
high-res photo on the front cover.
The original file is typically about 512K. The image
file is about 195K. The resulting PDF is 640K.
Distiller options include: Acrobat 4.0 compatibility,
ASCII format, optimize PDF, 1200 dpi resolution,
Color & Bitmap images bicubit downsampling at
300dpi, monocrome images bicubit
downsampling at 1200 dpi, compression
automatic, quality high for color & bitmap images,
compression CCITT 4 for monochrome bitmap
images, embed all fonts, subset all imbedded
fonts below 100%, conversion: tag everything for
color mgmt, Assumed profiles: greyŚnone, RGB:
sRGB 19666-2.1, CMYK: Adobe CMYK, Options: all
on, Advanced Options: use prologue.ps &
epilogue.ps is off; all other Advanced Options are
on, DSC: Log DSC Warnings is off; everything else
Does anyone know what settings to use to
accomplish this? Are there any additional tools
(i.e., plugins, etc.) that I'll need to do this?
