This is what I am trying to accomplish and need guidance and assistance.

Using ASP..query database..populate pdf. Input data and user has the ability to save data to a SQL 7 database by launching another asp to and executing a SQL statement. After saving the data I can requery the data to obtain the unique ID of the record but

2 different approaches
-----------------------
1. How do I get the ID into the open PDF the user is inputting data on. At first the record would be inserted then a user could make a mistake. User would need the ability to update re re-post.

OR OR OR OR

2. After the data has been saved. Close open pdf (but how), call another ASP..pass in the unique ID and requery database and re launch the PDF.

Any ideas or other approaches?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
