Hi All,

I'm pretty new to PDF's and VB. I saw some code for converting a TIFF to PDF and tried to modify it so that it would convert word documents to PDF. Here is the code:

Dim FileName As String
Dim AcroApp As CAcroApp
Dim AVDoc As CAcroAVDoc
Dim PDDoc As CAcroPDDoc
Public IsSuccess As Boolean

Private Sub Form_Load()
FileName = Command()
If FileName = "" Then
End If
Call ToPDF(FileName)
End Sub

Private Sub ToPDF(FileName As String)

IsSuccess = False
Set AcroApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
Set AVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
Set PDDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")

IsSuccess = AVDoc.Open(FileName, "")
End Sub

Sub Timer1_Timer()

If IsSuccess = True Then

Set AVDoc = AcroApp.GetActiveDoc

'Save as pdf
Set PDDoc = AVDoc.GetPDDoc
Call PDDoc.Save(&H1, "\\Jas\Test\1.pdf")

'Close the PDF
AVDoc.Close True

Set PDDoc = Nothing
Set AVDoc = Nothing
Set AcroApp = Nothing
Unload Form1
End If
End Sub

The timer checks the status of IsSuccess every 5 seconds. It should return true once the document has been opened.

The problem is that IsSuccess or AVDoc.Open never returns true. The Could some one help please...

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
