Topic: AVDocGetSplitterPosition wierdness in Acro 5

My head is spinning with something odd.

AVDocGetSplitterPosition returns the position of the splitter, the line between the bookmark area and the page area.

As the documentation indicates, the routine returns zero when the bookmark area is closed. There is an unfortunate problem. In Acrobat 5, the bookmark area can be closed with the tabs still showing. (I refer to the tabs that run vertically along the edge of the bookmark area.) In this case, AVDocGetSplitterPosition returns zero.

The splitter can also be dragged all of the way to the left so that the tabs are no longer visible. In this case, AVDocGetSplitterPosition still returns zero.

With the splitter in two different positions about 30 pixels or so apart, I am getting the same value from AVDocGetSplitterPosition.

Does anybody have an idea how to get around this to find out where the splitter really is by distinguishing between when the tabs are visible or not?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
