Topic: Bad input data' error and zlib

I am working with our in-house PDF parsing library. We are using freeware zlib library to decode zip'ed streams. Unfortunately for some PDF files it does not work and returns "bad input data" error. I traced it down to zlib code and saw that it fails to recognize the header of the zip'ed stream.
Does anyone know which zip-library I should use to get rid of this incompatabilities? Or maybe I can do smth. with this stream to make it readable?
Thank you very much in advance,
P.S. PDF document is attached. Object #17 is the one that causes all these troubles.
