Topic: Can this be done with Postscript?

I know how to take two ps files and distill them to get a PDF. I even know how to do some PDF marks and such in one ps file to add to the main file when distilling to get a stamp effect.
My question is - Can a postscript file get variables from a database somehow before/when it is distilled?
Or could I create the postscript file on the fly then distill? What would i use to create a postscript file on the fly? Dont need to be able to do it myself, just make a recommendation to the project managers so they can tell the developers what to look at doing...
