Topic: Default value not displayed in Form Field

I am using VB to create text form field (see code below). I set the default value property in code, but this value is not being displayed on the form. Exiting and reopening the document does not help. However, if I go into the properties of the form field in Acrobat, and just hit OK, the default value suddenly appears. But I need this to appear without the user having to do anything.

I notice this same problem with the FormsOLE sample code from the SDK. I am using Acrobat 4.0 with the AFormAut 1.0 Type Library. Any ideas? Thanks.

Set AcroExchAVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
bOK = AcroExchAVDoc.Open("C:\mydoc.pdf", "")
If (bOK) Then
Set AFormAut = CreateObject("AFormAut.App")
Set Fields = AFormAut.Fields
End If
Set Field = Fields.Add("Name", "text", 0, 100, 650, 450, 675)
Field.SetBorderColor "RGB", 0.7, 0.5, 0.3, 0
Field.TextSize = "12"
Field.DefaultValue = "Enter your full name here"

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
